Great beers, historic atmosphere. We loved the simplicity of a lump of cheese in a warm roll. Don't expect gourmet but really good honest food.

It's a very long drive for me these days, well for many years since I left Reading in 1984. Now it's a lovely lunch stop between W Wales and E Anglian. Timeless, bit like Hugh and the family. Always good beer and rolls in a great setting.

I almost don’t want to leave a review here because I don’t want this beautiful place ruined by a load of tourists!
A truly old fashioned family owned and ran English pub done properly!
Great staff, great cider and beer, great atmosphere and fantastic Ham roll!
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to socialise!

The best pub around. Great drinks, amazing rolls, lovely garden and the friendliest service. We always love visiting. The owners donated £40 to a charity bike ride our daughter was carrying out today (we stopped in midway for a well earned break!) this was beyond generous and says alot about the pub and its lovely owners, thanks!

Great pub owned by a lovely family. Try the hot stilton heese roll...wonderful. They brew their own beer as well. Excellent

Fantastic pub, if you are in the area it’s a must visit. A historic unchanged village pub, with great real ales, ciders and food and friendly staff.

I visited this little 💎 of a place, and the atmosphere was lovely. What a quaint historic and beautiful pub! It has ample parking and is a freehold pub. There is a beautiful garden area where you can sit and enjoy your tipple and their homemade sandwiches. What a wonderful little pub with polite and courteous staff and landlord. Shall definitely return when I am next in Aldwick.

A quintessential pub tucked away up on the ridgeway in idyllic English countryside. You can feel the hundreds of years of history once you step through the door. Grab a pint of cider or beer with a roll and take it all in. Whether a local or a weary traveler coming off the road the staff and atmosphere make you feel right at home.

Quite literally one of the best pubs in England and it has been run by the Macaulay family for over 250 years. The landlord and staff are always welcoming, and the beer is always on form. Grade 2 listed interior, lovely beer garden. And a big selection of rolls are available with generous fillings.
This pub is national treasure, you must visit.

Love this place. For me the best pub in the UK! Friendly service. A decent selection of ales at a good price. Didn't eat this time but the rolls are amazing. Lovely garden or watch the world go by out the front. Perfection!
